The VOGUE Knitting Crochet 2013 Special Collector's Issue was everything I hoped it would be. Up until this magazine arrived on my doorstep, I'd only seen simple crochet designs. Don't get me wrong, I'd seen stunning motifs for lace shawls, table clothes and doily's, but I hadn't seen any modern fashion designs. I've constructed many amigurumi and baby items, but never any fashion. The issue was filled with lacy garments that you would never find in a shop because you cannot machine crochet something the way you can machine knit something.
My favorite designs include the Lace Band Dress (would look fantastic over a simple slip) the Scallop Stitch Cardi, the Modif Top, the Overlay Blanket and the Bracelets (nothing super special here but so simple and cute that I had to give them a little heart!)
VOGUE Knitting Crochet 2014 Special Collector's Issue has some impractical garments (the tank dress is a statement piece, but I'm not sure how wearable it is) but many delightful wearable items, too. The V-Neck Tunic is a stunning statement piece, the Ballet-Neck Tee with the right colors could fit into anyone's wardrobe and the slouchy hat is just deliciously fun. I love, love, LOVE the Cap-Sleeve Top - a center cable with basket woven crochet around the sides... this looks so outside of my comfort zone that I really want to give it a shot!
