My goal is to find some variety of projects, I am sure that there will be many that I cannot locate!
- Harry Potter Scarf - There are two different versions in the movies. This one is knit as a tube with alternating similarly size blocks of color. This scarf is super warm (I have been using it in green and purple for the last year, see my archives.) See this alternate pattern too. You could also modify this general pattern to make the scarf in a garter stitch, or in any other kind of textured pattern (although that would be less authentic to the movies).
- Harry Potter Scarf 2 - This is a "Light on Dark trapped bar design" shown in the later HP movies. This one is also knit in the round as a big long tube.
- Harry Potter House Crest Charts - This designer created charts to make the different Harry Potter House Crests on a wine Cozy (using knitty.com's cozy pattern). Of course, you could apply the crest to whatever project you have in mind.
- Dark Mark Knitting Chart - Need I say more?
- Harry Potter Fair Isle House Knit bags - These look absolutely fantastic! I'm not sure how to do them justice.
- Slytherin Snake Chart -Enough said.
- Harry Potter Book Scarf - what a cute idea! A nice little bookmark, which would be a great gift to give to a child when you present them with their first HP book (I wish there would be more. *sigh*)
- Harry Potter Sock bookmark - Now this is absolutely adorable, and does not need to be HP related at all! Think of it as a mini-long-thin-sock (without a place for your feet!) that you can use to keep your place.
- Dark Mark Illusion Scarf - Hats off to the designer! If you make this for someone it will look store bought!
- Hedwig Illusion Cloth - The pattern has the directions in the color that they are supposed to be knitted. (I'm liking these Illusions!)
- Sirius Black Cloth - Textured pattern that has the tattoo shown in the movies.
- Golden Snitch pattern - Make your own stuffed Golden Snitch! Practice Quidditch in your own home!
- Golden Snitch ear flap hat - chart for a golden snitch, put it on a hat (as shown) or on any other project!
- Gryffindor Lion Sweater - Make a sweater in red and gold with the Gryffindor Lion on your chest!
- Weasley Sweater - based on the sweaters in the movies that Molly Weasley knits the kids.
- Harry Potter Wizard Chart - put Harry's Face on a sweater! (Note: does not include sweater pattern.)
- Harry Potter (Super Intricate) Knitting Charts - These are almost like paintings. Hats off to the knitter who re-creates them!
- HP knitted cloth - See HP initials and a broomstick (?) textured.
- POA Knitted cloth - This looks like the jail plates and numbers shown in the Daily Prophet in the HP movies.
- Chudly Cannon Hat - Orange and Black striped hat (but this would clash on a red-head!)
- Deathly Hallows Ear Flap Hat - and - "Wit Beyond Measure" Ravenclaw hat. These have the charts for the hats described, but does not contain patterns for the entire hats (Which is too bad, as I want to make the entire DH hat.)
- Harry Potter House Hats - Striped Beanie and Beret both shown.
- Mini HP sock - In house colors, these have great potential for being a Christmas Ornament.
- Double Knit House Bags - A super cute gift for a big HP fan!
- Deathly Hallows Wristlet - Show that you are a true believer by wearing this sign! Chart included.
- Weasley Cell Cozy - Make a mini "Ron" sweater to keep your cell phone safe!
- Slytherin Ipod Cozy - This has the double stripe (like in the HP scarf 2), and could be made in any of the house colors.
- Quidditch Sweater - Just like the movies! Ribbed and with a large house colored stripe.
- Fingerless Quidditch Mitts - Knit these stripes in the colors of your favorite Hogwarts house!
- Dobby's Socks - Knit socks with snitches and broomsticks on them, as described in HP 4.
- House Elf Socks (Dobby's Socks version 2) http://www.potterparties.com/costume/32 - see another version of the kind of socks from the previous pattern.
- Errol Knitting Pattern - Make your own cute stuffed owl!
- Tiny Harry Potter Sock - for a keychain or ornament. These have mini lions, paws etc on them!
- Hurray Hufflepuff Socks - Complete with a badger on the feet! (Unfortunately you need to be a Ravelry account to see the full pattern.)
- Dobby Hat - This looks like a cone hat, floppy and cute.
- Ravenclaw arm warmers - These striped arm warmers can be knit in the colors of your favorite HP house.
- HP House Gloves - These have stripes for each of the different houses on the different fingers.
- HP House Mittens - Knit these striped mittens in the colors of your favorite Hogwarts house!
There are way more patterns than I expected. I would not be surprised if fans have not re-created every single woolen item shown in the HP movies!
