Preorders for the 2026 ChemKnits Chanukah Yarn Samplers are now open! Each sampler has wrapped miniskeins (100 g of yarn total), multiple fun extras, and a signed handmade Chanukah Card. You can unwrap the miniskeins each night of Chanukah while watching me dye the yarn in a ChemKnits Tutorials YouTube Video that will be published each night of Chanukah in December (plus a few extra nights.)

What is in each Chanukah Sampler?
You can pick between sock weight or DK weight yarn for your sampler. All of the yarn is 75% superwash Merino Wool /25% Nylon. This is the same base that I've used in previous years. This will be the 9th year I've created these samplers!
Each sampler includes:
Wrapped Yarn Mini Skeins - The 2026 sampler will have 8-9 wrapped packages that contain a total of 8 - 10 g miniskein plus 1 - 20 g mini skein of your selected yarn weight. Each night of Chanukah I will release a video showing how I dyed the yarn in that night's package. I love to find fun packaging to wrap the yarn and try to vary the type of packaging from year to year. The packages will be labeled with the night of Chanukah plus the date so you know when to expect the video. (Each video comes out at 8:30 PM Eastern Time.)
Multiple fun extras - I like to tuck little surprises into some of the wrapped packages. (See below for examples from 2024.) The extras are usually themed Chanukah, ChemKnits, Winter, or even some of Rebecca's favorite things.
Signed Chanukah Card - Most years I make these cards myself with the help of my cricut, although I have commissioned artwork from other artists in the past and had cards professionally printed. My plan is to make the cards myself for 2026.

When is Chanukah 2026?
Chanukah 2026 starts at sundown on Friday December 4, 2026. The 8th night of Chanukah begins on Friday December 11, but the series will continue with some bonus episodes.
Each video will premiere at 8:30 PM Eastern Time on the ChemKnits Tutorials YouTube Channel. All of the videos will be available in the 2026 ChemKnits Chanukah Special Playlist as they are published.
The videos are available for free so everyone can celebrate together, you don't have to buy a yarn sampler to join in on the fun! I try to join the live premier chat for as many of the videos as I can to react to the video, answer questions, and just hang out in general. Some of my favorite things have come out of these premiere chats (the name "Yarn Lasanga" is the best example!)
All 2026 Chanukah yarn will ship Mid-November.
Are these Fade Sets? Can I use all the yarn together in one project?
My goal behind the Chanukah Yarn samplers is to provide you with multiple different types of hand dyed yarn. I try to include a variety of repeating and non-repeating colorways so that way you can experiment and swatch with different types of hand dyed yarn.
The colors aren't picked with a specific fade in mind, although they can all be used in one project. I tend to recommend scrappy projects to play with these differnet yarns. I have seen amazing striped hats, cowls, and socks that others have knit and crocheted with my Chanukah yarn.
One of the biggest requests I get on my videos is for swatches of my hand dyed yarn. I don't have the capacity to swatch every colorway I create when I'm dyeing over a hundred different colorways each year. I originally created this series to help multiple individuals get their hands on the same yarn so you can test out different types of hand dyed yarn.
Who are these samplers for?
The ChemKnits Chanukah Yarn Samplers are make a great gift for any yarn lover, but especially those that are ChemKnits Fans or celebrate Chanukah. Another reason why I created these samplers is so that someone can have a gift to open every night of Chanukah. You can treat yourself or send a sampler to a loved one. I always include a letter describing the series so it is okay if someone isn't familiar with my YouTube channel.
You don't need to be Jewish to particpiate in the ChemKnits Chanukah Special! I invite all of you to celebrate with me, and you are welcome to purchase the yarn even if you don't observe Chanukah personally.
Are there any bonus colorways or addons?
Yes! There are three different full skein add ons that are brand new for the 2026 Chanukah Special. There are also a few options in the Chanukah Section of my shop with items from previous years.
Silky Yak Add-on (2026) - Superwash Merino / Yak/Silk blends are back in both Sock and DK weights! This colorway will be different from the sparkle colorway, and will be dyed in a bonus video (either night 9 or 10 of the series.) These will come wrapped, labeled with the date the dyeing video will be published, and come with a fun extra.
Sparkle Add-on (2026) - A superwash merino/nylon/gold stellina yarn that is available in both Sock and DK weight! This colorway will be different from the silky yak colorway, and will be dyed in a bonus video (either night 9 or 10 of the series.) These will come wrapped, labeled with the date the dyeing video will be published, and come with a fun extra.
2026 Yarn Mop Add On - Unlike the Silky Yak and Sparkle add-ons, the YarnMops/Leave No Dye Behind bonus skeins can be dyed in nights 1-8 or in the bonus videos. There are multiiple unique skeins in this category, and if you order multiple the colorways will likely be very different. These will come wrapped, labeled with the date the dyeing video will be published, and come with a fun extra.
At this time, I want to give priority to the 2026 add ons (Silky Yak, Sparkle, and Chanukah yarn Mops) to customers who have ordered the miniskein yarn samplers. It is okay if you purchased your sampler in another order, just leave me a note to seller.

2025 Unwrapped DK Weight Samplers - The "unwrapped" listing includes all of the yarn and extras that were included in the 2025 sampler, but without the packaging or the card. When will the yarn ship?
All of the Chanukah Yarn will ship mid-November 2026.
Can you combine multiple orders?
No, due to the volume of Chanukah orders I cannot combine shipping if you place multiple orders. I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
What is the yardage of the yarns?
Sock Yarn - 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon, 463 yards / 100 g (46 yards / 10 g miniskein, 92 yards / 20 g mini)
DK Weight Yarn - 75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon, 245 yards / 100 g (24 yards / 10 g miniskein, 48 yards / 20 g mini)
Is the yarn identical in every sampler?
Not necesicarly. Due to the techniques in paricular videos there may be differences in the yarn colors from one individual night. If you order multiple samplers, they may not be completely identical, but there will absolutely be some overlap.
Are the extras on the bonus add on skeins the same?
The progress keepers on any bonus skein are different from those contained with in the sampler. There may be repeats if you purchase multipile add-on skeins.
